That's an interesting one...
It appears that the expulsion has more to do with these Canadians being NATO representatives in Moscow, than with their nationality as such.
This comes as somewhat of a surprise to me, considering recent attempts to "normalize" US/ NATO - Russian relationship, a curious twist... Russians seem to be pissed off by NATO exercises that have just begun in Georgia.
Will keep an eye on it.

"Russia expels Canadian diplomats" Hurray! It's always the US diplomats that get the flak. When is the last time anyone got mad at Canada?
I think it was Canada and Denmark arguing about some fish but I don't remember for sure. Are the Russians mad because Canada brews better beer? Is the issue worth 20 million kroons?

1. Russia expelled two Canadian diplomats, "In response to the unfriendly act on Nato's part". The unfriendly part was expulsion of two Russian envoys in Brussels. 2. The Canadian diplomats were Nato staff, in Moscow
3. In 2008, Georgia and Russia clashed over control Georgia.
