Read this poem and reflect a moment -- on how quick it all may blow away into madness. Share your own poem...as if it would be your last.

I spent yesterday with tragic stories -- infants being critically shot, 98 year old men being killed in nursing homes...and finally, the one that got me most, the murder of 2 sisters in Boston, one of which wrote this poem:

Share your own original poem -- the last impression you'd like to leave.....

TURNING of the PAGE

Seasons changing as they do
Light grows dim on a harvest moon
Standing tall in the cool dark night
It is your truth that makes me right

All I am is nothing more
Than a reflection of you in my soul
You bring a quiet to the rage
In this, the turning of the page

All that is old is dead and gone
All that is new draws me along
I seek your face and not your hand
In you I will find my place

To be the man I am meant to be
To care for life, to make you pleased
I live your will in this world
Waiting for you to take me home

Once up on a time, upon on a quiet night
When the click of my clock sounded just for me
And my children in their beds slept neath summer night
Moon filled with soft hued beams
Like fleeting memories.

I paused to reflect on what kind of life I'd laid.
Should I have left myself behind?
And saintly tried to play a grim charade?
Just looking back, I think I can not know
Whether my sins were by choice or by chance.
But I think that I caused more sunshine than snow
When I passed the prayer and opted for the dance.

I smiled relaxing in my old rocking chair that sagged,
Leaned back with my weed and took another drag.
