Having heard about the speculation... I'd say probably not. For the simple reason that he could do most of the groundwork for a presidential run before he had to tip his hand in any way.
More likely its that he's given his notice because some other broadcaster has come along with a hugely better cash offer. I really don't think its a matter of concern for his country, or his journalistic integrity. He's simply going where he can get more money.
His contract probably contains a period of time where he's not allowed to talk about that and when thats over he'll proudly announce he's at a broadcaster that can allow him to 'speak the truth' and do the 'big issues' that he's interested in..... and thats probably going to somewhere like 'fox business' channel...
