Do you think the new health care logo looks like a Reichsadler?

The Reichsadler was an eagle insignia used by Nazi Germany.

There is no disagreeing that they do look the same, but I don't think it was anything avoidable, given the fact that the Medical Symbol
http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/thumb_98/1163502923V39L00.jpg and the Reichsadler already look the similar. There is no way to design the health care logo without the medical symbol showing a similarity, and the medical symbol is an important part of the health care logo!

I also think that in this comparison that you sourced, those two variations were chosen simply because they resemble each other. There are many variations of each symbol, styled many different ways, and they look nothing alike. The health care logo just happens to look like one of he variations of the Reichsadler.

However, if you compare the health care logo to this variation
http://www.deutsche-schutzgebiete.de/webpages/Reichsadler_gross_.gif they look nothing alike.

I'd say someone here is just trying to start another "the Government is evil" scandal by showing comparison when really, they have little to do with eachother.

There is no denying that in the comparison you gave, they are similar, but that is only one variation.

Thats just my opinion though.

Good question!

I would have to say they do look somewhat similar but just in basic design. The fact that there are peope/organizations that are making a big deal out of this amazes me. The design is simply a combination of the Caduceus (the greek symbol for medical) and President Obamas campaign symbol.

Caduceus:

Not as much as the 30's German eagle resembles the American 30's eagle.

We should have followed Franklin and picked the turkey for our national bird and symbol.
