From my research, Nurseryworks makes the best quality baby changing tables. The Two Wide is the best quality you will find today. What I liked about it was that it is customizable in color and design, and does not look like a changing table, yet rather it could be considered a piece of nice furniture, or even art. It's definitely on the wish list for many, as it is the quintessential changing table. Do not be mistaken by the price, as you're paying for the very highest quality here, and it's more than just a changing table.

As someone who has three kids that are all past babyhood, I think it's wise to look for something that can be converted to storage space for toys, games, and books, or would be a good dresser. My oldest is 12, and he still has his "changing table" and uses it to display Lego creations, and hold various projects he's working on. We didn't even use it for our youngest, mostly because we did Early Start training with her so that she was out of diapers within a few months.

We had almost exactly the same kind you have in your picture for our second child, and she now uses it as a dresser. For our first, we had this:

It wasn't exactly like this, because this is a newer model, but it was essentially the same. It's what our son now has displaying his projects and holding oversized books.

Geez, don't sweat it. Whatever's pretty and has easy to slide drawers (if you like to hide stuff) or no drawers if you don't care.

Pretty soon, you'll be using the bed, the couch, and the kitchen table.

Who has time to go to a "changing" table?

It's pretty much a useless piece of furniture. Especially once the kids can roll over.

I would get a dresser that you'd like your child to have when they are 2 or 3 or 5 or 6.

If you're hell bent on blowing extra money on a "baby" thing (after all, $299 buys a lot of diapers and formula)...
Here's a useful, highly rated one from Target...

Nice thing about this one is that you have open shelves and closed shelves. And, it doesn't look like a baby changing table for future usage.
