New statements say that BP oil spill reaching Mexico is probable. How far south will it reach?

Mexican Secretary of the Environment stated, “A probable scenario would be that crude oil coming from Texas will reach the coasts of Tamaulipas and Veracruz.” If the oil does reach the Mexican coast, already spreading against normal currents, what is to stop it from moving farther south? If nothing is done, will it eventually make its way to Tabasco, Campeche and Yucatan?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.
