I'm using ping.fm for it, BTW, so I'm worried if I use that, EVERYTHING I say will end up here. And you REALLY don't want that, LOL!

FEATURE: How to Add your Twitter Account to your Mahalo Account
We've created a page to help you add your Twitter account to your Mahalo Account. If you do this when you ask a question on twitter it will be attached to your Mahalo Account (kind of cool!).

Please test it and let us know if it worked!

Yeah, if you have your name in there already it does it. :-)

Thought this was already done? So, you are saying whenever anyone asks a question, it automatically gets posted here, even if you did not want it to be asked on Mahalo Answers? How do people know it's safe to enter your username and password for Twitter on Mahalo?

People don't know it's safe to enter their twitter password on Mahalo... they have to take a leap of faith. :-)
however, I'm sure Twitter will have an authorized service like Facebook Connect soon.

I have this question, too. I'm not a big Twitterer...yet...and don't want all my tweets broadcast here...it would clutter it up!

I see what you are saying about leap of faith, but there is no security between your service and Twitter. Does anyone else do this? I've heard of entering a username somewhere else. I would get emails from another company that looks like another site like, and they asked me to sign in there. If it's not the same URL of the site, people are more hesitant to log in. Google has Friend Connect which is interesting to add. I'm wondering if you are going to add Google Friend Connect to Mahalo Answers.

Like any account, you need not let anyone else use it. In Russia, it's 1 year minimum in prison for logging into a social networking account that does not belong to you.

Just did it. I've been very careful about Twitter--had an account for a year, but barely used it because I didn't want it to be a timesucker. Finally read Tim Farriss' guide to preventing that and started using it. I'm using ping.fm for it, BTW, so I'm worried if I use that, EVERYTHING I say will end up here. And you REALLY don't want that, LOL!

This just allows you to do "@answers your question" and have it be posted as "tracebooks" the mahalo user :) We will, in no way, be reposting everything you say on twitter :) Also once you enter in your twitter username and password we only store the username, not the password. We only ask for the password to verify that the twitter account is really yours.

Hey Jason, this is all cool stuff you are doing to promote the service. Here is a question for you, when will Mahalo Answers have an app for mobile phones? It would be nice to see an app for obviously the iphone but also for windows and symbian as well. Maybe it is in the works already?

I'm testing it now and ask question via Twitter...I forgot that I linked my Twitter to Facebook too. Is it all right to disconnect once I already linked Mahalo to Twitter later?

I like the idea, but as easyeboy and some others have mentioned, having all the tweets end up here would be too much. Can there be a link or something which differentiates between a question we want asked on Mahalo, as compared to ones we only want twitter answers of?
