Need some ideas for lesson plans to teach a 3 year old class. Help!!!
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

M$1. Learn shapes by doing the Shape Hokey Pokey!

2. Teach the concept of "big or little" using this great lesson plan:

3. Learn or Practice Counting with M & M's or Gummi bears:

4. Practice counting to 10 or 20 by making a Cheerios or Fruit Loop necklace!

5. How am I feeling? Read any book that has something to do with feelings. One of my faves is Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Discuss different basic feelings with the kids (happy, sad, angry, excited, etc.), and talk about how Alexander was feeling.
Then, give each child 3 paper plates for them to draw a face with a certain feeling (happy works the best).

6. The Letter Dance (to help reinforce the alphabet)

7. March Around the Alphabet!

8. Play-Doh Letters...have the kids use play-doh to construct their letters.

M$Have coloring/art project time where the kids can color and make simple arts and crafts.
Depending on their level, you could probably teach letters and numbers.
3 is very young, so just make sure you have lots of toys, puzzles, and activities you can give them to keep them busy.

I forgot here is another site I've used. This one however is Craft based though. But once again it has some themes/ideas you can use (or jump off from) as well as free printables. As we know, using crafts to teach ideas also gives the child some practice with fine motor skills
thank you for your ideas and the websites.
thank you for the other suggestions!
my pleasure. I have used this page for many lessons/themes myself. Good stuff and good one stop shop to build themed lessons.
I have the dltk website bookmarked on my computer already. I refer to it all the time for ideas for projects.
I don't know why but lesson themes keep popping up in my head so I thought I would add them.
Fun at the Zoo (zoo animals {letters, sounds} animals from other parts of the world, FIELDTRIP)
Down on the Farm (farm animals {letters, sounds}, where we get our food, plants & Animals, living in the city vs. living in the country, FIELDTRIP)
Oceans & Beaches (water, sand, boats, animals, textures)
And you don't have to go to deep into these topics for 3 year olds. just simple activities go a very long way with them.
