Need backpack for weekend trip?
I need a backpack that’s lightweight and 1000 cu. in. or thereabouts in capacity for a weekend trip. Would be nice if it had a laptop sleeve since I intend to carry my laptop with me.

I think what you need is a backpack that’s smaller than a rucksack, but larger than a regular daypack. You may find some nice options at Osprey (http://www.ospreypacks.com/ ). Another brand you could consider is Briggs & Riley. Their new BRX (http://www.briggs-riley.com/category/group.aspx?col=BRX ) collection is geared towards outdoor luggage. I was considering getting this excursion backpack (http://www.briggs-riley.com/category/productDetail.aspx?id=Excursion-Backpack_BP118 ) from their collection for my brother. It’s got a laptop compartment and several other pockets and dividers for organization. See if you like it!
