Need a summary list of facts about Imodium

Could you list the following facts:

Active ingredient
Who makes it?
Used for/Not recommended for
Side effects
Interactions
Who can/can't use it
How long can you use it?
How many people take it?
Anything else I should know?

Please include primary sources for the information (I love Wikipedia, but these are better:

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Active Ingredient : Loperamide
Who makes it : McNeil-PPC
Used for : Controls symptoms of diarrhea
Avoid if : fever, bloody/black stools, history of liver disease
Side Effects : dehydration, tiredness, drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, dry mouth, fatigue
Interactions : There are minor and medium interaction issues with MANY drugs. I suggest you use my link below and do a search for the list. There are A LOT.

http://www.drugs.com/drug_interactions.php

Who can/can't use : Any normally healthy human should be able to take the specified doses of this medication under proper medical supervision (this includes children under 2 yrs); however, you should avoid taking it if you are pregnant. If you are pregnant, discuss it with your doc.

How many people take it : I couldn't find a definite number, as the active ingredient is used in many products that control diarrhea.

Anything else :
I'm confused as to why you'd ask these things if you had already found so much information? :)

Imodium is also known as Loporamide. There is a good explanation of most of your questions here http://www.drugs.com/mtm/loperamide.html

All answers are from www.imodium.com, except for the statistical question of how many people use it.

Active ingredient: Loperamide
Who makes it? McNeil PPC
Used for/Not recommended for: Controls symptoms of diarrhea, including Traveler's Diarrhea. Do not use if you have bloody or black stool.
Side effects: tiredness, drowsiness, or dizziness
Interactions: antibiotics
Who can/can't use it: Not for children under 6 and women who are pregnant or breast-feeding.
How long can you use it? It says not to use for diarrhea lasting more than 2 days.
How many people take it? Alright let me math this out. I have an article below with sales figures at 25 mil in 2006. That's for 2 yrs. At roughly $8 per box (Wal-mart prices) that's about 3,125,000 purchasers.
Anything else I should know? Here's a bonus Imodium bathroom locator:
