One of the best book I read as a boy - and one of the best books I've ever read hands down. You should definitely read it if you haven't. The first time I ever cried at the end of a book. I'll never forget it. I'm a better person for it - trust me, there's action and blood and survival, love and friendship and an epic quest... It's a fantastic read.
Fiver - a little guy who has these strange precog visions of what the future holds,
Hazel - the hero
Bigwig - the kind older ex-sherrif type who's still a bad ass
General Woundwort - a cruel and old leader of the rabbit "police" who doesn't mind murder
El-ahrairah - Prince of a thousand enemies, the rabbit god
The Black Rabbit of Inle - sort of the grimn reaper, but not a scary god at all - instead, he comes to dying rabbits and promises them rest and happiness after their long and hard lives.
