According to ParrotChronicles, "Mirrors can also ease the anxiety parrots may feel when left alone. Few people realize how unnatural it is for a parrot to be left without a companion while the owners are at work. In the wild, parrots have a mate, partner or friend by their side almost every minute of every day of their life." However, if your bird is scaring you and trying to hurt you, your best bet is probably to take him to a vet or ask an animal behavior specialist why he may be acting in such a manner.

It's not the bird that needs to see a behaviour specialist; its the owner. Got to find out why he enjoys watching and tending to birds who are restrained by a cage and have had their free will removed. This is something that is clearly unnatural and cruel.
If people stop buying birds in cages then pet shops won't steal birds from their natural homes in the wild where they can fly, be normal and happy and do the natural work they were intended for. They can stay away from weird unnatural things like mirrors that they don't understand. Shame on you people for perpetuating this unnecessary cruelty to birds. Stop damaging the mind of your bird and try to enjoy some harmless things in life. Give the bird to a sanctuary where it can fly and have a happy life with real friends and a family. Get a cat or dog instead as long as you are willing to them the freedom they need to be happy
