Usually, during the commercials, my Grandma would tell me old stories about events in her life that somehow tied in with the horror movies that we were watching at the time. Unlike other children my age who grew up on the Smurfs, Scooby Doo, and GI Joe, I grew up watching Vincent Price, Christopher Lee, Boris Karloff, and many others in the genre. I would end up growing up studying all aspects of horror movies and write two books, and countless articles about horror history and horror symbolism.
Of course, since Halloween in the center of the horror year, it would only make sense that I would grow to love the holiday. The increase in horror movies on TV, the number of regular TV shows that had Halloween themes, and the number of stores that displayed horror images during the year, added to my love of the holiday.
Of course, due to my knowledge of the horror genre, I found that I was being invited to more and more Halloween parties as I got older. Many of my friends and relatives wanted me at their parties to make sure that I could add another aspect by sharing the knowledge that I had of the holiday, and of the horror movies that became pletiful around this time of year.
Of course, the excess candy didn't hurt either in making Halloween my favorite holiday of the year.

Maybe because I was born in October. But it’s just always been the most fun of any holiday out there. We go all out like some people go all out for Christmas.
Most recently my family has been throwing me unique Halloween theme birthday parties and those are like most wonderful events ever!
I really can’t explain it, but its my favorite.
