My cat ran away, do you think he'll come back?
Tuesday I saw him playing in the field across from our house, but that's the last time I saw him. We live in a suburb but there is a vacant field across from us. No animals wild animals that I know of, that would harm him... There aren't any signs that he's been hit by a car, and I've never in the time I've lived here seen any animal control trucks, so I doubt he got picked up. There are also a few other cats in the neighborhood that he likes to play with, I guess they are all friends.
Do male cats just take themselves on little journeys and come back later? I'm worried and sad. I hope he comes home soon.

If he is chipped they will check for that at the shelter, or has tags, and call you. Also contact the vets in your area incase someone brings him in, and you can hang a picture of him there to. Otherwise it's a waiting game.
I wish you the best and hop he has a safe return.

M$I have gone through this before, and he may well come home. You could try checking with neighbors, if they know he is missing they may be able to give you a call when they see him so maybe you can catch him. I've had a kitty run away like that, but it wasn't a happy ending. I've also known others that the cat was gone for a week, but then showed up just fine begging for some food and attention.
good luck!

M$I hope that our cat stories can give you hope.
I had a male fixed cat when I was younger. He was a player.
He would sometimes stay out all night.
On one occasion, he didn't come back for 2 weeks. I cried, I mourned.
I thought he was gone.
Turned out he was just hanging out with his friends a few blocks away and getting fed by their owner.
Don't throw in the towel... yet.
Cats do the funniest things!

M$We've been looking all over for him, and I've put food out in case he comes home while we are gone. I'm reluctant to call the pound or the local vets yet, because he's only been missing since Tuesday, and we live on a private lane with a few other houses who also have outdoor cats. They all kind of play together in the field where we live, so it doesn't seem to me that someone would have called the pound to come get him.
And my husband went around looking for signs that he might have been injured or worse, but there's no trace of anything.
Hopefully he's just out having fun someplace, but I'm worried. It's not unusual for him to be gone over night, especially in the summer months... but it is unusual for him to be gone this long.
