Who is the best musical guest ever to appear on Saturday Night Live?

Recently I've noticed how mediocre the guests have been, last week Taylor Swift was pretty underwhelming and Kanye's performance made headlines because it was so bad. SNL used to be known for having amazing musicians on their show, including Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, The Clash and Nirvana.

April 17th, 1982. Elton John. Show was hosted by Johnny Cash. Interesting pairing. You are definitely right about Taylor swift. She looked nervous and seemed off-pitch quite often.

I don't watch SNL very much lately. No as good as it was in the 70's -80's.

I usually skip the musical guest portion of the show due to the lack of decent artists.
