I don't play tuba... I was a percussion major, but Alan Baer the principal tubist for the NewYork Philharmonic endorses two brands of tubas on his site. http://www.baertracksmusic.com/index.php?page=news
Meinl and Miraphone. I've heard of both of them and would trust a player of Baer's stature.
