http://audiotuts.com/resources/240-free-albums-tracks-and-links-for-music-mashup-lovers/

Has a load of links to albums and other mashup sites.

Personally my favorites are ToToM - Bootleg is Resistance Vol. I/III but you have to be a NIN fan to really like that, I guess. I also like the Best of Bootie Yearly series.

This is a fantastic resource of top free mashup albums... thanks :)

It saddens me that this question will expire tomorrow. Great musical recommendations keep coming through and I really appreciate everyone's responses! Please email me if you think I'm missing anything: harrisonpowers@gmail.com

Probably the most famous mash-up album is The Grey Album from DJ Dangermouse (of Gnarls Barkley fame). It combines Jay-Z's "The Black Album" with The Beatles' self-titled LP (better known as The White Album, hence the Grey title). It is available for free download http://stereo.lu/grey/ As far as I know, the download is completely legal and free.

This is true. A+. (Unfortunately, I actually hate this mashup. Go figure.)

I am really enjoying the TKRMX of Justice's Cross album. My favorite track is definitely Phantom II featuring Lupe Fiasco. I've attached a YouTube clip so you can preview before you download to see if its something you're interested in. Enjoy.

GIRL TALK - Feed the Animals.
Go to the girl talk myspace.
click buy the album.
put in 0.00 dollars.
Listen to the whole album twice (starting the second time immediately after the first).

Then thank me for making your life so much much better than you could have hoped for.

If you judge the answer to this question based on the album you get and you listen to Feed the animals you will surely agree it was the best recommendation.

I am in love with the Legion Of Doom's Incorporated mashup album. They use a variety of bands in their mixes such as the Get Up Kids, Saves The Day, Alkaline Trio, Dashboard Confessional, Atreyu, It Dies Today, Underoath, Brand New, Gym Class Heroes... My favourite song is "The Quiet Screaming" which can be found on their Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/tlod

Their CD isn't free but I'm pretty sure it's sold out. It's easy enough to find online, though.

Check out The Hood Internet at http://www.thehoodinternet.com

These two guys with laptops have created several collections of mashups. Their specialty seems to be mixing hip-hop and indie rock. They're all available for free on their site. Look down the left-hand column.

I have the one called "Mixtape Volue One", and I recommend it.

I would thoroughly recommend The Kleptones: http://www.kleptones.com/pages/downloads.html

24 hours is my favourite album, followed by Yoshimi Battles The Hip-Hop Robots, but they really are all worth a go.
