Pitchfork chose Fleet Foxes' debut album and Sun Giant EP as their "Best Album of 2008". Do you agree?

What's your #1 album of the year? Include a video or mp3 file so others can listen!

Honestly, I do not. But then again, all musical opinions are up to those who originally made them. Personally, I would have gone with Vampire Weekend's self-titled album or Death Cab For Cutie's "Narrow Stairs" as the album of the year. I'm sure others will have their own opinions. Here is an video of one of Death Cab's songs off their latest album to see what I mean. To finish my thought though, magazines like Pitchfork shouldn't be taken as a know-all, end-all. Instead, they should be taken as industry insiders who might give you a great suggestion you have overlooked, or might present a flop.

No, Fleet Foxes aren't nearly as good as Pitchfork wants you to believe.

No Age's Nouns
The Walkmen's You& Me
Deerhunter's "Microcastle"
Beach House's Devotion
and the Crystal Castles album are all better records.

No. I don't understand why everybody likes Fleet Foxes so much. What is so exciting about vocal harmonies? Going back to the dark ages? Maybe just because they do it without 'Auto Tune'?

The whole top 10 is a bit out of wack. 'Third' is not great.... TV on the Radio is another one I just don't understand the hype.... and Vampire Weekend? Please. M83 should have been in the top 5 at least.

I think now that Pitchfork is so mainstream they try extra hard to be obscure just to be cool.
