Is Michael Jackson dead or alive?

I'm getting mixed reports on his heart attack today. Was his cardiac arrest fatal? Is he still alive?

Latest news is he is in the hospital, but in very bad shape:

Pop star Michael Jackson was rushed to a hospital this afternoon by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.

Capt. Steve Ruda said paramedics responded to a call at Jackson's home around 12:26 p.m. He was not breathing when they arrived. The parademics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda told The Times.

at 2:12 p.m.: Paramedics were called to a home on the 100 block of Carolwood Drive off Sunset Boulevard. Jackson rented the Bel Air home for $100,000 a month. It was described as a French chateau estate built in 2002 with seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces and a theater.

The home is about 2 minutes away from UCLA Medical Center.

The news comes as Jackson, 50, was attempting a comeback after years of tabloid headlines, most notably his trial and acquittal on child molestation charges.

In May, The Times reported that Jackson was living in a Bel-Air mansion and rehearsing for a series of 50 sold-out shows in London's O2 Arena. Jackson had won the backing of two billionaires to get the so-called "King of Pop" back on stage.

His backers envision the shows at AEG's O2 as an audition for a career rebirth that could ultimately encompass a three-year world tour, a new album, movies, a Graceland-like museum, musical revues in Las Vegas and Macau, and even a "Thriller" casino. Such a rebound could wipe out Jackson's massive debt.

OMG I'm so sorry to hear this. It looks like breaking new at the moment. Most reports right now are saying he was rushed to the hospital but have not confirmed anything more.

1st Farrah Facett passes away and now Michael Jackson?

No Michael is still admitted in hospital. No reports of any more info on him. Let's hope we do not hear any more sad deaths of celebrities. Ed McMahon, 85, who died yesterday, suffering from pneumonia and bone cancer and Farrah Fawcett, who died today at the age of 62 after a long battle with anal cancer. Stay tuned...................

According to CBS News and Katie Couric, Michael Jackson is in fact deceased. He was unconscious when the paramedics arrived, they worked on him for approximately 45 minutes during which time he was totally unresponsive. Cardiac Arrest is being blamed.

A Google representative confirmed he died between approximately 2:40 p.m. PDT and 3:15 p.m. PDT today.

Michael Jackson died at 3:15 p.m. pacific time on Thursday, June 25, 2009. His cause of death remains unknown, and the autopsy is currently set for Friday.

He is dead. Confirmed dead at the hospital when doctors couldn't resuscitate him. It is believed he suffered cardiac arrest at his rental home in Holmby Hills. Parametics tried to resuscitate him for 45 minutes but gave up and took him to the hospital where doctors continued trying to bring him back. However, the cause of his death is unknown until results of the autopsy are known. BUT to his fans he will always live on in his music and memories. Controversy or not, the man brought happiness to people through what he did as "The King of Pop".

It is a shame that he has passed on at such a relatively young age. I saw it first reported from a UK news source. Farrah Fawcett died today also.

yes the cardiac arrest was fatal. Cardiac Arrest alone means the heart has stopped and no breathing. He would of had a better chance of living if the ambulance would of been to his home faster. for every minute after your heart stops beating your chances of being revived is decreased by 10%. he had been in Arrest for over 8minutes by the time the EMS crew arrived at his home and took over with CPR.

I believe in the toxicology report you will hear of many different drugs that were in his system at the time of death. Much like Elvis, MJ had personal doctors and other people around him telling him what to take and what to do.
