The first is Jonathan Coulton, who gained a huge Internet following in a couple of ways. He did a podcast for a year in which he released one new song per week. Second, his songs are all released under the Creative Commons license. This allows anyone to create derivative work from his songs, such as videos or remixes. His songs are catchy, funny, and just great music.
The second is Flight of the Conchords. This New Zealand duo has their own television program on HBO. Much like the music of Jonathan Coulton, their songs are funny but very well written and catchy.

Not having any idea what sort of music you like, I can only recommend a couple of my favorites. The first is Jonathan Coulton, who gained a huge Internet following in a couple of ways. This allows anyone to create derivative work from his songs, such as videos or remixes. His songs are catchy, funny, and just great music.
