If you walked into the Hotel California in Todos Santos, you'd think it must be the the same from the song (which is played there every Friday night); however, the Eagles have denied any connection to the Hotel (or ever being there).

According to Henley, Hotel California is not about a real place. In a 60 minutes interview he said, "a song about the dark underbelly of the American dream and about excess in America, which is something we knew a lot about"
