I think the idea is cool, having a hippopotamus, but there are some problems:

1) Space??? Those guys are huge
2) Cost??? Food, enclosure, water, medicine
3) Smell??? I don't have any experience, but I bet they smell terrible

And finally

Hippos are extremely aggressive and have been known to attack humans, and they have enough jaw power to easily crush bones.

I think I'll keep visiting the zoo, thanks.

Not really, Hippos are responsible for more deaths every year than almost any animal. If I had a zoo to hold it in, then maybe.
