Can someone tell me the origin of Yung/Young and its significance to the rap community? Why would one embrace the moniker "Yung ____" ?

The two rappers your talking about is the Ying Yang Twins and not Yung/Young. Like most hip hop artist these guys have there own unique style(crunk rap) and appeal to the community thus bringing something new that people will embrace. You can check this link to see the origin of the group
