There are Mac format conversion programs available, but you don't actually need one. Go to www.media-convert.com. It converts all sorts of audio and video formats, it's free, and since it's web based, you can use it from anything - Mac, Windows, Linux, whatever.

How can I convert videos from mv4 format to mtv on a Mac?
My older daughter has an iPod, the younger a Coby MP4. I did not realize you can't just put the same videos on the Coby as the iPod. Now, how do I convert those videos into the mtv format on a Mac? I found conversion downloads for Windows everywhere...but I need one for a Mac. Help?

That site looks like it could be very useful, but I can't seem to find the 'mtv' format?

If you find the free web-based converter isn't working for you for some reason, I have included links to several software options, most are under $50.

VisualHub was probably the best commercial choice. The bad news is it is no longer available. The good news is it has been open sourced and is now known as TranscoderRedux http://sourceforge.net/projects/transcoderredux/
