There are Mac format conversion programs available, but you don't actually need one.  Go to www.media-convert.com. It converts all sorts of audio and video formats, it's free, and since it's web based, you can use it from anything - Mac, Windows, Linux, whatever.

That site looks like it could be very useful, but I can't seem to find the 'mtv' format?

If you find the free web-based converter isn't working for you for some reason, I have included links to several software options, most are under $50.

VisualHub was probably the best commercial choice. The bad news is it is no longer available. The good news is it has been open sourced and is now known as TranscoderRedux
