Johnny Depp seems to be leading the rumor list, and I admit he would be a good pick.
I think that Alan Rickman would make a good Riddler. He's good with dry humor (like his role in Dogma) and he played a very, very convincing villain in Sweeny Todd. But he might be a bit too old for the role. :/

I picture him in a dark grey suit, green tie, a matching fedora, round reflective sunglasses with a green tint, and a cain with a question mark on then end.
I feel he will be a very smart person with lower social skills who will use explosives a lot.
... thats how I would do it.

Wasn't there a Batman story line at one time about Riddler suffering from OCD? That he didn't WANT to give away his crimes in advance, but felt compelled to, unable to help himself? That would be an interesting take on the character for a Nolan movie.

Who should play the Riddler in Batman 3? (assuming there is a third movie, with the villain headlining)
Chris Nolan's Riddler would probably be more realistic and not a Jim Carrey type. He'll probably be an eccentric intellectual with extreme O.C.D. who has quick mood swings. I say Crispin Glover or David Tennant should play him. I thought David Hyde Pierce would be good too, but I don't think he could pull off the eccentric part well enough.

I don't think johnny depp is going to be chosen for the part. In Nolan's batman big name actors are chosen for the little roles (i.e. Michael Caine & Morgan freeman) I say crispin glover as the riddler. Or David tennant if glover doesn't take the part

...Jack Black would be a horrible riddler. The villain is still supposed to be...evil, and frightening, not just a goof-ball.

I can see that but instead of a grey suit it would be all-black with a black tie that has green question marks on it. And it would be a black bowler hat with a green band. Don't forget the green gloves!

Online rumors suggest that Eddie Murphy may play the Riddler in the upcoming "Batman" film. His representatives and Alan Horn (the head of Warner Bros) deny that anyone has been cast.

I could see Depp in the part. Paul Bettany was tossed around as a suggestion for The Joker way back in the day, but I think he'd actually be better for Riddler. Also, Jude Law, who was already extremely creepy in "Road to Perdition." Wasn't there a Batman story line at one time about Riddler suffering from OCD? That he didn't WANT to give away his crimes in advance, but felt compelled to, unable to help himself? That would be an interesting take on the character for a Nolan movie.

Neil Patrick Harris.

Or Michael J. Fox. I only thought of that, because of the OCD mention. In Scrubs, Michael's Parkinson's was used to portray OCD when he played Dr. Kevin Casey.
