Okay, Thanksgiving movies, eh? They're not as "plentiful" as other holiday movies, but I will do my best! I'm going to start at the top of my list for favorite Thanksgiving movies:

1. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles - This is the ultimate Thanksgiving movie because it is hysterically funny year after year, stars classic actors, and still captures the spirit of Thanksgiving: Loving your family and learning to value being with them. There's also a great message of friendship and togetherness.

2. Home for the Holidays - You can't go wrong with this dysfunctional family movie treat. You get all the nuances of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner gone horribly wrong.

3. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving - What would the holidays be without the Peanuts? It's a tradition every year.

4. Dutch - starring Ed O'Neill as a man who goes on a cross-country road trip to pick up his fiancee's snotty adolescent son from boarding school for Thanksgiving break. No surprise, along the way on the road trip they hit disaster after disaster. But the message of love and acceptance is strong, making it a very affectionate Thanksgiving movie.

5. Addams Family Values - Granted, about 75% of this movie has nothing to do with Thanksgiving, and seems more Halloween geared. But toward the end of the movie, the kids stage this HILARIOUS Thanksgiving pageant/revenge plot. The song "Eat Me" alone gets me through Thanksgiving! And the flaming pilgrims....precious.
Watch it below here.. YOU'LL UNDERSTAND:

6. Son-in-Law - This is the best of Pauly Shore's movies, and it's a goofy romp of a movie that centers around a blossoming co-ed farm girl who arrives home for Thanksgiving with her wacky surfer friend form college (Pauly Shore). It's good immature fun and laughs, and has a nice theme of accepting your family as they are. It all culminates with a sweet Thanksgiving dinner scene.

7. The New World - If you want an accurate look at the lives of Pilgrims in the "new world", about the time of the first Thanksgiving, then here is an artistic, amazing film to watch.

8. Parenthood - Okay, technically you've got me that it doesn't have a Thanksgiving scene. But I watch it every November because it does have a very heavy theme about loving your crazy family, and there are lots of large family meal scenes. So it has the perfect sentimental tone for Thanksgiving!

9. Chicken Run - Again, although not strictly Thanksgiving, it's a November favorite thinking about all the turkeys plotting their own escape.

10. When Harry Met Sally - This is just an autumn movie. It really celebrates New York in autumn and winter, and the depression of the holidays when you're not in love. In particular, I tip my hat to the "pecan pie" scene.

And that's it. It's a tough list since so few movies have been made about Thanksgiving!
