You will encounter new vampires in New Moon aside from The Cullens. During the last book, you're encounter the names of the Denali Clan and the Vulturi. But you haven't met the two groups yet. In this book, you'll meet The Volturi.

The Volturi acts like a royal family in the vampire clan. They live in Volterra, Italy.



They also have other members which serves like their army or guards

- Chelsea
- Corin
- Demetri
- Felix
- Heidi
- Renata
- Santiago

Mostly of these guards have special powers. The truth is they are invited to join the Volturi because they have special abilities that can be used by the leaders in governing all their kind. This is the reason why the Volturi is interested in inviting Edward and Alice's to join them. Because the two have special abilities.

From the image, Jane and Alec belongs to the army group while the three, Aro, Caius and Marcus are the leaders. They have wives too namely Athenodora (Caius' wife), Sulpicia (Aro's wife) and Didyme (Marcus's wife, she's already dead so they won't meet her anymore in this series).

They'll also meet Gianna. She is the secretary in the Volturi. Bella will meet her accompanying a group of people who will later be slain by the Volturi's. Unlike the Cullens, the Volturi drinks human blood.
