I'd have to say ALL of The Evil Dead movies. The first two were my favorite, being based on more horror than anything. Army of Darkness starts to get a little comical, but it's still a great movie. And I am anticipating Sam Raimi's Evil Dead 4 to come out. =] Ohhhh soo much! However, I think he's still writing it.

nice choice..

Sweeet! I hadn't heard they were releasing a fourth. The the trailer appears to be for a remake of one of the movies the article does confirm a 4th is in the works, but doesn't mention a date. :(

I'm must have 4-5 copies of the entire series already.. gotta have your VHS and your DVD and the directors/normal cuts of both lol

Shaun of the Dead is probably the best zombie movie I've seen, because it does such a great job of pointing out the ridiculous cliches in all the other zombie movies.

Shaun of the Dead must be my favorite. But then, I have a thing for movies with Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright.

That said, if you are considering it, I would classify Zombieland as a movie "you should see in theaters." I wonderful adventure into the comedy of the apocalypse. Except if you are fat... Then you will fail Rule Number 1...

If you are a reader, though, you may want to check out Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

Dawn of the dead and 28 days later I will always like, but if it comes to funny, Shaun of the dead and I haven't seen Zombieland yet, but that will probably be too.

And I will even admit, though its horrible, I loved Night Of The Comet.

My favorite Zombie movie is Shawn of the Dead. It's not only a pretty good movie - it's pretty freaking funny as well. I was very excited about seeing ZombieLand - I saw it opening weekend and I loved it.

As far as a pure zombie movie - "Dawn of the Dead" was my favorite. It has the best opening sequence of any Zombie movie - maybe any horror movie. I could (and have) watch the beginning over and over again.

Love the question - loved the movies...

I know most zombie "purists" will condemn me for this, but I like the remake of Dawn of the Dead with Ving Rhames!
I liked the whole presentation, the adaptaion to the modern day, the incredible and screaming halt of modern society (and the reflection of it left over after the initial hoard comes) and how, truely, there is ultimately no escape!! BWAAAHAHAHAHAAA!!!

I got to see Zombieland, and yes it was awesome. Very tyounge in cheek, but what the hell? Why can't the H1N1 flu - oh, I'm sorry, we're not talking about the BEGINNING of the zombie apocolypse - Why can't the Zombie Apocolypse be kind of fun??

I'm most excited about Left 4 Dead 2 coming out soon (even tho it's not a movie). Had a bad day> Nothing killing about 600 undead won't cure. Add beer and you've got an awesome evening!!

Shawn of the dead was hilarious xD stuff about zombies is explained at a funny way, like that part *spoiler* where that zombie was half killed and tried to walk when pinned to a tree, and one person explained how he walked and then they did the same thing and walked through the zombies xD *spoiler end* but a real zombie movie will be dawn of the dead, it's nicely made and fun to watch

I think I enjoyed I Am Legend more than any other zombie movie. The Zombies were super scary and the conversion of the character's dog was very touching. I also enjoyed 28 Days Later.

So far I would have to say my favorite Zombie movie is 28 Days Later/28 Weeks Later. It was the only one that some what explained how it can happen in a way that I think is somewhat almost believable.

The one that I can't wait to see is if they ever make a movie from the Book "World War Z". Very scary book! I don't know how it would transfer into a movie, but I would definitely go watch that if a movie was ever made. Talk about realistic! I pretty much was convinced it was a real possibility. Lol. :)

My favorite is "Dawn of the Dead". One of the greatest things about it, in my opinion, is it is never tried to explain what caused people turning into zombies. Sure, you see news reports, but it's not definitive: no mysterious "Raincoat" corporations and XYZ viruses, it just happened, no one knows anything, except that you have to shoot zombies in the head to take them down. That's it. The main focus is on the characters and their effort to survive barricaded in a mall surrounded by hordes of undead.
Don't get me wrong, it also has probably the best zombie slaughter action I have ever seen, so it's an all-around good movie. It's just so well balanced... There's nothing bad i can say about "Dawn of the Dead" which is a rare thing for me.
