The Curious Case of Benjamin Button certainly has the buzz, but The Reader deals with the Holocaust, which never hurts as far as award season goes. Still, I think the smart money's on Frost Nixon.

The reality, though, is that the Golden Globes are essentially bought and paid for before any trophies are actually awarded. The "Hollywood Foreign Press" is just a group of international journalists who pay money to join a group that gets them feted by the big studios. The modern entertainment industry equivalent of a payola scheme.
