You know, that's not a bad idea!
I, being a little girl of the 80s, worshiped Punky as my own personal little Amelia Earhart. My hero! I wanted to sleep in an apple cart too, and paint my window shade to illustrate the night and day. Such good memories.
Now a movie, you say?
It's actually kind of brilliant because the premise of the series was cute and unique - a homeless orphan is taken in by a grumpy old bachelor in the city, creating an "odd couple" type of relationship that turns into deep father-daughter love. She opens up his sour heart, and he gives her the stability and comfort she needs!
Plus the messages were all very sweet, about taking chances in life, and caring for friends.
Let me tell you, if they come out with a Punky movie, I'll be there first in line (as long as they don't change Punky too much - no rap star Punky!).

I was a huge Punky Brewster fan as a kid. HUGE. I had ponytail holders just like hers and i would wear legwarmers and mixed matched color schemes to be more like her too. So i would definitely take my kids to see a Punky Brewster movie, as i think most female children of the 80's would too.

I liked the tv and she was sooo cute but I don't see it as a movie. I'm not sure they could find an actress to play the part as well as her she was perfect. http://nogoodforme.filmstills.org/images/punkybrewster.jpg
