I never heard of the book before you mentioned it. It would be an interesting read. But my initial impression is its a children's book.
In 2006 BBC News article, Charlie Higson resists Young Bond movie.
After two successful books, a third finished and work starting on a fourth in the Young Bond series, Higson said: "There's a lot of interest from film companies and from Hollywood but we're going to hold off for the time being." Higson told a Hay Festival audience, largely of children: "I'm pretty sure there will be a film one day. "But I want to get the books written - I don't want people to come to the character through film."
So I guess its a definite possibility. The author just needs to write a few more novels to build up the character. This is positive news to me. Mr. Higson refuses to sell out too early. Go read the book. Trust me its actually much better than the movie. I have read all Harry Potter books but haven't really seen all the movies yet. Often times it disappoints me the experience that you had reading the book doesn't translate well into film.
