LOL I have to laugh. I am a huge Twilight fan. Right now I am more of a books fans, but as the movies come out, I am sure I will be struggling with which side I am more for. The movies or the books.
Some other great movies that revolve around a vampire story would be Queen of the Damned-came out in 2002. The soundtrack to this is really good. I thought it really had a great sort of romance element. I haven't seen it in years, I think I will have to some time soon. However ,it does give that little cheesy element that some vampire movies can't avoid. But still good!

I know I have seen Van Helsing, but for the life of me I can't quite remember the movie. I remember thinking it was good though.

One of my all time favorites in the Blade series. It is really well done. You have that beast vs beast with morals thing going on. Such as Twilight and the 'vegetarian' lifestyle.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0mx0dBXkw4
One of my most favorite (other than the Twilight saga ;) ) Is the Underworld Series. In fact, the latest Underworld movie-Rise of the Lycans(2009) Micheal Sheen plays one of the lead characters. He will also be playing a character in the Volturi in New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn (god willing.) Brilliant actor!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMYyhBtQ1PU
Then there is the classic The Lost Boys.(1987)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27NtNtoZLw0
The first vampire movie I saw was Interview with a Vampire with Tom Cruise,Brad Pitt, and Kirsten Dunst. I believe it's based on an Anne Rice novel. Very good movie!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGkBMe3j-Sk
The old old classic is Nosferatu (1922) A Bram Stoker's novel turned movie. SCARY stuff. For being so old, maybe that's it's charm. But it is freaky stuff! :) Or I am just a wimp ;)

Check out the very bottom of the list, if you wanted to include series, Hellsing would rocket to the top. . . "It includes themes primarily from H. P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu works and Bram Stoker’s Dracula, rolled together with some fast-paced action sequences. "

But yes, Lost Boys was always a fave of mine because of the vibe you get from it.
Of course Bram Stokers Dracula (minus Keanu Reeves) was really really good too - Gary Oldman is incredible and really sells the indea that Dracula was in fact a love story, but a COOL love story with blood and undead!!

I'll give you my personal top 5 favorite vampire movies:
#5- The Lost Boys- A young Keifer and just a great vampire movie that is a cult classic.
#4- Underworld- Vampires and Lycan's, I'm in heaven. I loved the story line and the action.
#3- Bram Stoker's Dracula- Starring a young Keanu Reeves, Wynona Ryder and Anthony Hopkins. A great film was born.
#2- Shadow of the Vampire- Featuring John Malcovich it is the story of Nosferatu and the legend surrounding the original making of the film.
#1- Interview with the Vampire- Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise star as Louis and Lestat from The Vampire Chronicles first book Interview with the Vampire.
This is my all time favorite vampire movie. It is close to the book and the things that don't match up with the book were changed by Anne Rice who wrote the screen play.
It is seductive, creepy and a genuine vampire horror.

chock full of delightful art direction; creative use of lighting and shadows; inventive camera tricks; exceptional sets and costumes; and some of the most delicious acting from gary oldman. the rest of the cast is very well rounded also.
it was nominated for "best art direction-set decoration" and won oscars for "best costume design", "best effects, sound effects editing" and "best makeup".
it may not be as enjoyable for everyone as it is for me. some will find it very "campy". others might forget the time frame it was made in and dismiss it. but more than a few will fall into it and savor every drop.
at it's core, it's one of the most beautiful love stories out there. the soundtrack is engaging and the end credits roll over annie lennox's "love song for a vampire", which captures the heart (pun intended) and soul of the story in it's lyrical tale.
give it a chance. you may be pleasantly surprised to discover a classic that almost slipped past you.

The love story between Caleb and Mae is so so, but the chemistry between the actors is wonderful. Yeah, Henriksen is playing himself again, but that is to be expected. The adult kid vamp, Homer, is just damned creepy. But the star of this one is Paxton.
Oh, and "Innocent Blood"

Ignore Loggia's acting. Anne Parillaud does an amazing job. And you just cannot beat Don Rickles as a vampire. This alone trumps every performance short of Kirsten Dunst as Claudia.
If you have netflix, go get them. if you don't have netflix or blockbusters mailing service.. go get the free trials. a Vamp fan will not regret it. Though, Twilight fans may..

My favorite vampire movie is Låt den rätte komma in, or Let The Right One In. It's a Norwegian film (with subtitles) about a girl vampire, Eli who has been 12 years old for the past 200 years. She struggles to satisfy her hunger because she will not go out and hunt herself. A man, Håkan, helps Eli by killing strangers and draining their blood and bringing it back to her. In the midst of all the hunger pains, Eli meets Oskar. Oskar is a 12 year old boy who lives next door and finds Eli fascinating (not knowing that she is a vampire at first). They become friends and eventually Oskar develops feelings for Eli. The movie is filled with horror and tear jerking moments. How Thomas Alfredson, director, incorporates sadness into the film makes it a beautiful story to unfold before your eyes.

The scariest vampire movie I have ever seen is, Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens, a silent film from 1922. I swear, I saw it at a silent film festival and it is so dark, it was scary, especially with real organ music, like seeing a window into a nightmare.
