That said, my gut tells me that taking such swift action will generate success in tackling the housing crisis in the long run. Maybe 75% of it will work, 20% will not, and 5% will prove disastrous, I don't know. But to get people in the mindset that things are happening and something is being done is important, I think.
Reuters reports that yesterday "LendingTree.com had the highest loan request volume day for the month showing that borrowers did indeed feel encouraged by Obama's housing plan," and that "Zillow.com soared as well with loan requests up 56 percent on Wednesday versus the average daily number of loan requests so far in February."
