Although President Obama was persuading the UN Security Council to allow and attack on Libya and ordering USA forces into position, it's not what you do that counts, it's the obscure clues and subtle symbolism!
The President even had the White House fountain dyed as green as the Libyan flag!
It may be noted that the visiting Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny also wore a green tie! Perhaps he is a secret Moslem?
As Sheik Kadra of the Hadendowa said, "By the colour it might well seem to have belonged to those of the true faith..." and you know what faith he was talking about.

Obama persuading the UN Security Council to allow attacks on Libya?
What a ridiculous notion that the president of the USA needs to persuade anyone to agree with him in order to act upon the words that come out of their very mouth.
The U.N. Security Council's resolution to authorize airstrikes against pro-Gadhafi forces and enforce a no-fly zone comes abit late don't you think?
Akin to closing the barn door after the horse has left. I honestly hope I am wrong and it does help, but I'm a realist and don't think it matters now.
Obama should of acted like he had a pair and struck independly of the UN if that was really what he felt was in the best interest of the USA and the people of Libya.
A week ago Obama said "Gadhafi must go", the resources to execute that statement were already in place, sailing back and forth off the coast of Libya.
Empty words by a weak president that doesn't know how to pull the trigger and show that he means what he says.
If Obama really intended to act in favor of the Libyan rebels then it would of happened a week ago when the rebels had some momentum in their move to oust this tyrant.
Even without military assets in the immediate area (which were there in the form of two U.S. amphibious assault ships, the USS Ponce and the USS Kearsarge, and their support vessels as well as the USS Enterprise within striking distance giving Obama more then enough military strike ability to nullify Gadhafi's advantage) the president only needed to give an order for an air strike from as far away as Whiteman AFB in Missouri which would of put just two B-2 bombers over Libya within hours that could of surgically destroyed Gadhafi's airforce and air bases giving the rebels an even chance at least of overthrowing a dictator that Obama himself said to the world needed to be removed.
Obama is all blow and no show and his failing approval ratings indicate the lack of faith the american people have in his ability to lead the country.

You seem to have taken the opportunity to express your opinions rather than attempt to answer the question. That wouldn't be as bad if your opinions were more rational. The UN Security council certainly needs lots of persuasion to do anything ever, and France and Britain don't have the clout and their leaders don't have comparable skill. There is little doubt that President Obama and Secretary Clinton were crucial. As I said in answer to another question March 3, "One thing seems clear, the USA will not interfere by itself. It will only move if all its allies agree. That means a UN security council approval plus NATO intervention." President Obama renounced the cowboy bomb first negotiate later unilateral adventurism of the Republicans, and he has stuck to his campaign promises and policies. That is why he was given a Nobel prize and why he has been able to be a genuine world leader and statesman.I was serving in the Navy nearby when President Reagan ordered the strike against Gadhafi. The planes had to fly over open sea because with no diplomacy our allies wouldn't let us use their airspace. The bombing made conservatives feel good; but, here we are 25 years later and Gadhafi is still in power and causing trouble. President Obama knows how to use speeches and diplomacy. He follows President Roosevelt in speaking softly but carrying a big stick, an approach that also won Teddy a Nobel and historical stature. Gadhafi has already called off his assault on Benghazi. He's a wily one and perhaps he will survive; but, it doesn't look like it now. The people of Tripoli will not support him indefinitely under siege.Meanwhile, President Obama, surely the most vigorous and active in memory, is off to South America to seek trade deals and strengthen relations with Brazil and Chile. At the rate he is going by the end of his second term he will have surpassed even the highest expectations of his supporters.
The question did not ask whether he should be a secret Moslem or not, just whether wearing a green tie was a clue. Again, Green is the color of Gadhafi's flag, the only single color national flag in the world at the moment. St Patrick's Day may be another clue - recall that Gadhafi sent weapons and aid to the Irish Republican Army!
