Mahalo is adding a tip to all questions that don't offer a tip.
How do I get the full native resolution (1600x900) on my Acer X203H monitor as a secondary display from my laptop in Windows 7?
Here is my setup:
Laptop: Toshiba Tecra A8-S8513
Video: Intel 945 Express
Monitor: Acer X203H (connected via VGA cable)
OS: Windows 7 RC (Official) 32-bit
I also use an Acer AL2216W 22" LCD at it's full native resolution (1680x1050) with this same laptop and have no problems. However with the X203H hooked up my only options are 800x600, 1280x768 and 1280x1024, all which look terrible on this screen.
Here is what I have tried so far:
* Ran Windows Update to install the latest drivers for the video adapter and the monitor
* Installed the drivers individually from Toshiba and Acer
* Unchecked "hide resolutions I cannot display"
* Set the Acer X203H as the main and only monitor
I have not yet contacted Acer as Windows 7 isn't officially released so I don't think they are obligated to provide troubleshooting support.

I have a dell monitor that has both DVI and VGA inputs on it. When I connect anything to it via VGA, it looks terrible and I have fewer opitons as far as resolutions go. If I connect it via the DVI connection, it works fine. I think this is because of the analog vs digital input. VGA is technically an analog source, and DVI can be all digital. Just a thought, does your monitor have both inputs?
