Who came out ahead in the great depression and what did they do to come out ahead ?

What investments did they make and with the current economic state would those same inventments be used today?

The wealthiest Americans came out ahead because they had the money to buy cheaply what others had to sell just to survive. This could have been property, businesses, stocks, etc. It was a matter of supply and demand. With so many trying to sell whatever they had to be able to buy food and other necessities, and so few buying, prices went down enormously. Thus, whoever had money to spare managed to find unprecedented buying opportunities.
