In 2000, Ray and Barbara Wragg from Sheffield, England won £7.6 million (just over $15 million USD). The donated £6 million which was split between several charities including a children's hospital and another hospital that does cancer treatment. They also donated money to several world war II veterans who were travelling to Italy for the 60th anniversary of the battle of Monte Cassino.

In China, a lottery winner donated 10 million yuan (about 1.46 million dollars) to charity after winning nearly 360 million yuan (52.7 million US dollars). This donation is the largest made by someone who won the Welfare Lottery, administered by the Ministry of Civil Affairs in China. 1.46 million doesn't seem like a lot when he won over 52 million dollars.

To be honest, a majority of people winning the lottery do very selfish things with it. However...
One very generous couple in Oregon is giving away $10 million, 250k at a time, to local children and various other causes. They only made $164 million, so that's a significant chunk of their winnings. They gave 300k to 11 various organizations after receiving a proper application, and say "The list of things we're not interested in funding is pretty small right now". Future awards based on how their investments fare.

One winner, Jack Whittaker, gave 10% of his $315 million to a Christian charity, and gave the woman who sold him the ticket a house and car.
Thomas Hollywood Henderson, former Dallas Cowboy, won $28 million and wasn't extremely good with it, but did buy his old high school land, which had been torn down, and built a football stadium for the community.
Another couple gave their local Fire Department a 20k heat camera, after winning $5.9 million
But there are many more bad stories, of people who lost their millions, hung themself, or weren't good people and still won, and gambled their winnings away and bought useless things for themselves. This person is a convicted rapist, This person was still wearing his court ordered ankle bracelet when cashing in his $57 million.
There's also a youtube video about Shaw McBride who wants to give his money away, but there's no Matthew Campbell newsreporter I can find on a news channel 8, the youtube segment has no Channel Affiliation (CBS, NBC, etc) and it does look a little suspect. So apparently this idea is ripe for parody... (after more research, it's a hoax from Perpombellar Productions)
It really goes to show the best contributors to charity are people who've worked for that money themselves.

There is a man in Nashua NH that since 2005 has hit the lottery twice for over a million each time. His name is Bob Jaracz (Mr. Lucky)
In 2005 (he found out while preparing Thanksgiving dinner) he won the New Hampshire Tri-State Megabucks for a cool 1.9 million. In September of this year he won again for just over 1 million dollars and was the first person to ever do this in the state of New Hampshire.
The first million he did what many folks do fixed the house, bought a car, took some trips but with the second million he plans to help out local charities such as the Humane Society and The Santa Fund.
~~~There is an interesting video at this link~~~
I personally have witnessed his generosity as he delivered 5000.00 worth of food from our local Super Wal Mart grocery (a boatload of food!!) store to the Upper Room Compassionate Ministries where I volunteer 3 days a week.
The day he showed up was amazing! We had lines out the door to get some of that "Mr. Lucky millionaire food".. really that's what they were calling it.
Bob is a Navy veteran, former Korean War POW and a semi retired engineer, his wife Diane is a retired New York City school teacher.. some would say it's karma coming back to the lucky couple who have been married 48 years.
It can't be just luck. :)
