love it! I wonder too. It would be nice to see banks offering more than 1% on savings accounts and 2% on cds!!!!!!!!!!!!
Asker's Rating:
• Bank Savings are tied to the US treasury and prime rates. Kohn warns that inflation and high employment will raise interest rate. Rising Commodity prices, high energy prices, currency devaluation are factors forcing interest rates to rise.

The Fed two prong attack has been to lower the prime to 0.24 percent, nearly zero and buying securities (bonds and mortgage back securities and Consolated Debt obligations). Kohn also said the Fed suppliment currency swaps with other countries, loaned money to investment bank (unprecedented), and will create a derivatives clearing house.

Any economic recovery which means GDP goes positive and as a result oil prices, commodity prices and even housing prices start to go back up again. Not likely until 2010 at least.
