The banks are upset a Amherst holding for allegedly boosting the price of the bonds and avoid CDS payout.

Banks paid Amherst a premium for their CDS coverage for bonds. The banks says the CDS was render worthless and the banks ripped off from a payout.

What do you think about the charge?

What specifically happened is that they worked closely with borrowers to ensure the loans that backed a key benchmark bond performed better than expected.

Do you think the bond rating system needs to be more transparent, the companies composing the security more measurable, and information about the bond performance more public?
