Not quite yet; it looks like they have hired legal counsel to explore the possibilities of not only bankruptcy filing but also refinancing and capital raising initiatives.

From a Blockbuster spokeswoman: "We do not intend to file for bankruptcy."

Sounds like they are just exploring their options at this point, but being realistic about the fact that bankruptcy may be something they have to accept in the near future.

At the moment, Blockbuster has hired legal counsel to raise funds. Spokespersons state that the company does not intend to file bankruptcy.

To me, "intend" is kind of a sticky word. I didn't "intend" to stub my toe this morning, but it happened nonetheless.
