I have always had a good and balanced karma with my friends. If there are times when one of us is not doing so well (unemployed, etc) we will chip in and cover for fun things (cheap dinners, movies) and it never stays out of balance for too long.
As long as you have good friends and continually contribute to the "friend pool", there is no such thing as a mooch.

But I do have problems with cookies and kleptomania!
