Mahalo is a great place, and you can have much fun here. Plus, you can even make some money on it too! Whether you can actually make a living on it, depends on how determined you are.

Mahalo Answers alone will probably not be enough to get you a full earnings. But, Mahalo in general can really become a good income source! There are many ways to earn money, and probably the best one is to start creating, marketing and maintaining high quality Mahalo Pages.
From my experience, that's the place that has the biggest earnings. But, you should probably start with some Q&A first, to get a feeling for what this site doess, and THEN move on to other areas of Mahalo.
Some of us here are already making over M$1000 a month ( I myself am nearing M$500 for this month), and these earnings are increasing.

So yes, it is quite possible. but first you have to become really good, and that's best done by practice!
