I think it is fabulous! Plus size should be called real size. Though she is still a model, exceptionally proportioned and beautiful, she is a much better role model to women and girls. This link below shows many studies in detail of how after looking at fashion models in magazine and other media who are traditionally 20-30 percent underweight causes depression in women.

underweighthttp://healthpsych.psy.vanderbilt.edu/media_and_body_image.htm

The saddest thing is how much time women spend worrying about their bodies. If we could harness this energy and unfortunate angst, think of the happiness and things would accomplish! Being overweight or obese might cause health problems but accepting and loving your body just the way it is brings mental wellness and does not preclude you from exercising a little more and eating a little less if that is goal. Because that is all it really takes, a hundred calories less in food and a hundred calories more in exercise and you would see a difference. It is shift and lifetime commitment, diets don't work!

If you feel good about yourself you actually will eat less. How many times have you eaten in despair because you felt fat? Do you find yourself saying, “To hell with it, I am fat already, I am going to eat!” I know I am not alone here.

It is about acceptance. We live in a world where high- fat, large portions of food are literally shoved down our throats and this is juxtaposed with all these images of "super thin" beauty. It is a set-up for depression.

It always s amazes me that we get so excited seeing a beautiful women naked with a perfect body that does not look like a concentration victim. Here is to you Lizzie, thanks for taking off your clothes! And all the other women out there just love your body!

Stick figures are just not attractive. My mother is anorexic, and some of these supermodels weigh less than she does! It bothers me a lot that my mother has been fighting this disease for her entire adult life (she’s now 67, is 5′7″ and has gotten her weight all they way up to 112 lbs-which is great, for her), yet these models are as underweight as she is (or worse) and it’s promoted as beauty.

I’m not attacking naturally thin women-I agree beauty comes in many shapes and sizes. But being extremely underweight, as is my mother and most models, is distressing and shouldn’t be promoted as the ideal.

I hope this is the beginning of a trend. That model looks beautiful and there’s not a reason in the world why she needs to lose any weight. Six feet tall and 180 lbs? That’s great!

Yes they should. Plus side models are great and they should be recognize for their body. They are attractive and sexy. They also make excellent role models for teens and adult women who suffer from bulemia nervosa which is a way of dieting. It is serious and sometimes life threatening disorder that affects women who often want to become thin. This disease involves eating and binging on a daily basis. Also they are excellent role models for anorexic teens and adult women who develop this lack of desire to eat so they can become thin. Many teens are becoming anorexic because they hate being fat and they seeking out websites on tips to be anorexic which often leads to suicide.

Identifying her as a "plus sized model" is misleading, perhaps because of the model industry standards, but still misleading.

This woman is not fat but healthy. Her height and weight are within (although at the high end) of the recommended guidelines given by all the health magazines.

The current standards of models overuse very thin women who are below a healthy weight. It would be better if more models were healthy examples. However, it makes a difference what they are or are not wearing. Nude models are already much less skinny than clothing models, which is a good thing.

But the recent attempts to put a positive spin on being overweight are entirely misguided. Obesity is a major epidemic with major public health consequences. There are far, far more obese women that anorexic ones. Anorexia is about one in 200, or 1/2 of one percent. The obesity rate is more than 31% and rising! Avoiding anorexia should not be reason to excuse obesity.

It would be best if most models were within the weight guidelines of the various scientific and medical health organizations.

She is considered plus size? Are you serious - that is crazy. I find that the healthier looking models with some weight and curves on them are more beautiful and realistic than the models who are just skin and bones. I don't find it attractive when they have bones and ribs sticking out.

This is way too thin
