OPEN THREAD: Brett Favre to sign with the Minnesota Vikings today

Big rumors swirling that Brett Favre will sign with the Minnesota Vikings today. He is expected to sign a contract worth $10-12 million, pending a physical exam.

Is this a good move for the Minnesota Vikings? Will Favre help the team? Is anyone tired of this circus? Should we celebrate the second-annual Brett Favre unretirement?

I'm somewhat sick of the whole Favre retiring thing. But, Favre will definetely help the team, he is a great QB. I want to see someone wearing a Green Bay Packer Favre Jersey to a Viking-Packer game. Which team would they be cheering for?

• Good question! I bet we will have to wait until the teams meet to find out!

Is he playing or isn't he? If he is, GREAT, if not, lets move on with it already.

The NFL network seems as of late to basically be dedicated to Bret Favre and Michael Vick...... when is enough enough?

If this is true, I don't think it's a good move on Favre's part. While I realize the difficulty of turning down that kind of money, I think he needs to stick to his word. He has said repeatedly that he is done so he should abide by that decision. Also, I think he should quit while he is still viewed as a legend, before reaching has-been status.

As for the Vikings, there is so much great young talent out there that I don't see the logic in choosing someone of Favre's age (regardless of his skill and experience) for this amount of cash. He is a good QB, but not THAT good.

DANG! You scooped me!!!

As a Green Bay fan, I'm happy to see Brett pl;aying somewhere in the league, esprcially since GB will be playing Minn - can't wait to see the reaction!

In all serousness, he's a fantastic qb and I'm stoked he's playing for a team that needs him. However, after THIS season, he really needs to retire for real. He's a very well respected qb, has won a Super Bowl and has had (and continues to have) a fantastic career. Still, I'd love him to take a position with Fox Sports or CBS in a Troy Aikman / Ditka position doing color commentary for games next season. I don't want him to get hurt!
