There have been rumours of this for awhile, and they started mainly with this photo.

I think for a basketball player to wear that extra weight would probably alter his game significantly considering how much jumping they do.

Mo Williams actually injured his shoulder while with the Bucks and when he returned to work a "Protective Bar Pad" which is what your seeing in those pictures above.
