I gre up in the Flint area and I have been to all of these venues or artists and I can vouch for them personally.

1. Flint Institute of Arts including the Sloan Museum and Longway Planetarium.
The Sloan museum has interesting exhibits on General Motors (including old cars) and the UAW. The uAW has a particularly interesting exhibit on teh 1936 sit down strike.

2. Whiting Auditorium has an impressive lineup for 2009-20010, including country music (The Country Rat Pack), The Moscow Ballet, Comedy (Sinbad), Grammy winner Kenny Wayne Shepherd and many more.

3. Here's a local band you don't want to miss. They just returned from entertaining the troops in Korea and Japan, and the put on a GREAT show. If you like blues/rock, (think Leonard Skinnard/Greg Allman (but all original).
