Michael Jackson's Jewel-Encrusted glove fetches $190K at auction - what one famous or celebrity item would you *most* want to own?

For me the ideas run like water - Jimmy Page's Les Paul Burst, Stevie Ray Vaughan's 1962 Fender Stratocaster, Blues Saraceno's original "Dirty Boy" guitar amplifier (and yes, plenty of non-music, non-guitar related goodies, too ;-)

What famous movie, tv, celebrity etc prop or item would you most like to own? Why is it so special to you?

I would like to have the howling dog or dogs of the mind or the reality of Son of Sam aka David Berkowitz.. the ones that told him to do all of those horrible things OR since those dogs either never were real, didn't really talk, or have probably long since passed away.. I would like to have the original copy of this letter from Berkowitz to police.

I know it's creepy but you asked.

Do you know if in the movie "summer of sam" they read the real letters during the murder montages? I know they read the heading of this one, and most of what is in the source, but the rest seems much more well written. Even if its not i still like to pretend they are real.

Lady Gaga 's Georgio Armani Prive gown that was worn at the Grammy Awards. I actually like a lot of her Grammy Awards costumes, and I would love to have any one of them. I actually watched the news about the Michael Jackson auction last night, and I thought I would have like to have either his red leather Thriller jacket or the white Fedora that was signed by him. When I saw how much each of these went for, I reminded myself that I am not really that big of a Jackson fan after all.

Lady Gaga is often criticized for her crazy outfits and costumes, but she has actually been to school for design, and she likens her clothing to "art." The mouse outfit in the "Paparazzi" video was also interesting, and I would like to see how she makes the wigs like the one used in the "Telephone" video as well.

I wouldn't mind owning Queen Elizabeth's Crown. It has the famous Koh-i-Noor diamond, 105 carats, once known as the largest diamond in the world., and part of the British Crown Jewels. Or better yet, the Royal Scepter, which contains the Star of Africa diamond, the largest internally flawless D color (the highest grade) cut diamond in existence weighing in at 530 carats. It was cut from the Cullinan diamond, the largest gem quality diamond ever found, weighing in at 3106.75 carats (621.35 g). I saw them both a couple of weeks ago at the Tower of London.

Ecto-1 hand's down.

This is the Ghostbuster's car.

I am a huge Ghostbusters fan and this car is a piece of movie history. I would take it to charity events and car shows whenever I could to share the joy.

OK, I have a confession to make, even if it makes me look like a total freak.

I WANT DOROTHY"S RED SHOES!!!!!!!

They may be worth upwards of a million dollars, and there are people like me all over who covet them: they even have their own fan club. Why are they special? Well look at them, isn't it obvious? Who WOULDN'T want them. I know what you're thinking, and no, I don't want to dress up in them and parade around the bedroom. Well... at least I wouldn't tell you if I did.

Hunter S. Thompson's cigarette holder. I have been a fan of Hunter S. Thompson since the early '70's. For those not familiar with him, he was a journalist and author, and father of gonzo journalism, probably best known for "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," a must-read for hippies and hippies at heart!. His writing style was definitely unique. I was deeply saddened by his death, but happy for him at the same time.

The Prop I often haunt prop stores for is the mummies from the “Mummy” series of movies with Brandon Fraizer and I would love to have the mummy prop form the Original Mummy movie with Boris Karloff.
I am a Mummy-a-Holic. My library is filled with texts on them. And I have made my own hand sculpted and sewn mummies. I am just so fascinated with them.

Since I really like sports history, I would like a set of 4 autographed bats. The first would be from the AAGPBL - All American Girls Professional Baseball League (Pepper Martin, Dottie Kamenshek and others), next would be one from the Negro League (Satchel Paige, Buck Johnson, Josh Gibson) also one from the Major Leagues (Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Cy Young, Willie Mays, Hank Greenburg, etc.) and finally the USA girl's first winning Olympic team.

I was in radio for a brief while, and I occasionally collect broadcast memorabilia.

My answer: "A POP-CULTURALLY SIGNIFICANT MICROPHONE."

But which one?

No holds barred, if I could spend whatever it takes (though there are at least two of them in particular, I'd say "An RCA77A Microphone."
http://www.bigdmc.com/77DX-replica-back.JPG

Pretty innocent until you add its owner to the photo:
http://newsarchives.clas.asu.edu/news_releases/2007/images/LarryKing72dpi175v2.jpg

That's right--Larry King's Microphone. Thousands of celebrities and world leaders have sat by this non-working prop., although I suspect one will wind up in one of a few places: Ted Turner's office, Larry King's Home, The Newseum in DC (for those who haven't been, it's a whole museum about news--hence the name) or one of The Smithsonians.

A non-working replica of the thing is almost $1,000. Imagine what the real deal would be worth.

The other one I'd want is I'll take Letterman's working RCA DX77A
http://www.doobybrain.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/letterman-desk-mic.jpg

In third place is a Sony ECM-51A microphone--one that was on eBay a couple of years ago::
http://pics.livejournal.com/kevin_standlee/pic/00051gfb/s320x240
"This is an honest-to-goodness genuine Sony ECM-51A microphone, the same type used by (and invented and patented by, I understand) Gene Rayburn. It's shown here at its maximum extension, ideal for pointing microphones into contestants' faces without having to lean over them."

http://pics.livejournal.com/kevin_standlee/pic/000521yg/s320x240
"This is the same microphone in the retracted position, the way Bob Barker uses (used) his."

I've only heard my voice on the air through Sennheiser or Electro-Voice mics.

It sure looks like the Sennheiser MD421II Dynamic Cardioid Microphone was our studio gear.
http://cachepe.zzounds.com/media/feed/large/SENMD421II.jpg

I did live remotes with an Elevtro-voice 635A, also known as "The hammer" because the thing is literally impossible to destroyone of the things--you could really use it a hammer--,and no matter what the metal casing looks like, the sound is smooth as silk. I (in)famously dropped one when I got a shock from its metal case--the person who set up he remote didn't ground it properly.

Here's an official description:

"Live Interview Wired Microphone. Best known news gathering microphone in the world l Great sound, and incredible durability l Known as "The Buchanan Hammer" for its rugged durability l Also available in black (model: 635A/B)..........Specifications: Element: Dynamic, Polar Pattern: Omni, Impedance, Low-Z balanced: 150 Ohms, Connector Type: 3-pin XLR, Mic Type: Handheld, Wired/Wireless: Wired, Finish: Fawn Beige, Finish: Semi-Gloss Camera Black, Case Material: Steel, Weight Net: 170 g ( 6 oz ), Dimensions: (Height X Max Diameter) 151 x 36 mm (5.94" x 1.42")."

It would have to be Rosebud.
The reason I would want it...well for the allusion that it represented.
As far as I know there were 3 Rosebud props of which two were actually burned.
I have no idea where the third and only surviving one is now.
If you don't know what Rosebud is then watch the movie Citizen Kane, which many believe is the best movie ever made.

I saw Madonna at the Sticky & Sweet tour, and I would love to own the car that she had in the concert. That pink car was really neat, and it's a great convertible ride. I would like to own it because I actually attended the concert, loved the concert, and think it would be great to attend a show and have a piece of the show afterwards. It would be a great conversation piece, as well as if I could really drive it, it would be a fun car to drive. Since I am a car enthusiast, this is something that I can appreciate.
