Most of what I can find is that:

1) There aren't really any proven ways of preventing menopause, however some people insist on progesterone treatments as being an option.

2) It's important to treat menopause once it starts with Hormone Replacement Therapy to prevent depression.

I did find one site that claimed that you can prevent early menopause by not smoking, eating meat (early menopause seems to happen more in vegetarians), having an alcoholic drink every now and then, not being at a low weight, living at lower altitudes.
