I'm sure you are all aware of another infliction called Emotional Vampires that can suck the living life out of you in just one conversation, but Emotional Zombie Syndrome, or EZS can leave you pissed off, confused and sometimes it can even lead to violence.
Sadly, people stuck in the service industry are at high risk of this new disease. After being treated like they don't exist for hours... sometimes days on end, it will slowly sink in. They will go through the motions of work in a zombie trance like state. The symptoms include no eye contact, moaning and sometimes the dragging of feet. In severe cases they will ask you if you have a brain.
There is help! Just by acknowledging people around you and being courteous and kind, you can help to wipe out this horrible sickness! Don't delay... go out in the world and be nice. It's simple and doesn't cost a thing!
