May I present to you: Mithrandir Jr!
His name is Xiao Song, and currently lives in PingLiang, China. We'll be travelling to China January 2011, where we'll finally meet the little fellow.

M$Congrats to the proud parents of Xiao-Song!
One of the English translation for Xiao-Song (小松) is Little Pine Tree (Xiao is Little and Song is Pine Tree).
Pine trees symbolized Steadfastness, Self-discipline, Endurance and Longevity in Chinese culture.
My best wishes to the Mithrandir family!

M$Feel free to not answer this question, but i'm wondering how you were able to adopt a boy from china? We have a single friend who adopted two girls, and she's SO happy to have children.

M$@hartwell, I have no problem answering your question: We didn't. In the Netherlands, you cannot give a preference on adopting a boy/girl. It is simply a matter of chance.
However lately, many more boys are up for adoption, compared to last year and before. We have a group of five couples, who all adopted from China last year, and three of us have boys :)
So, initially we prepared for adopting a girl, but we became well prepared last year that our new family member might also be a boy, and we couldn't have been happier!
wow. i know he's going to love living with you guys and being your son. parenthood is a GAME CHANGER. welcome to the club!
I'm going to go get a tissue now - I can't read the screen anymore from my joy!
Congratulations and PLEASE keep us posted!! I'm so happy for you guys!!

how's my dutch? :P
Maybe I wasn't clear enough on that. We (Mr and Mrs Mith) started our adoption process 7 years ago. Xiao Song was born in January 2010, and we are the lucky parents who are allowed to take care of him, starting January next year.
So the little fellow is nine months old right now.
I like the name suggestion, not sure it will hold at school :)
well... I tried... heh. You could make out the wording?
Well, let's say your Google Translate techniques out-perform your Dutch skills :)
Really appreciate the effort though!
Oh, and even though the grammar is a bit off, I have no problem at all reading what you are writing:) It's strange to suddenly see Dutch at this all-English board..
I re-edited my answer after reading your blog.
Yes, sure! Sometimes the choice of words was a bit strange, but otherwise it's easy to read!
